Security Engineer - Traveling

The Security Engineer position focuses on completion of tasks to support customer projects and is assigned to project tasks through all phases. The first phase, planning, involves working with the customer to understand the environment and technical constraints. Once planning is complete the engineer will focus on designing a solution to meet the customer requirements. After the design is agreed to, the engineer moves the project into the implementation phase. During implementation, the actual product is installed. This may require travel to the customer location. Once the implementation is complete the engineer must document everything that was installed to show a successful deployment using approved InteliSecure design templates.

The Security Engineer will work directly with the Manager of DLP Engineering, Security Engineer, and Senior Security Engineer to deliver Professional Services. This will involve working closely on multiple projects based upon task assignment from Principal and Senior Engineers and for individual projects assigned by the Director. The Security Engineer will utilize the training programs for Engineers to ensure certification requirements are met/maintained.

Ensure all tasks performed adhere to the firmís ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS). This includes participation in annual information and network security training and acceptance of spot checks on an ad hoc basis to guarantee that InteliSecure is constantly improving upon the organizationís ISMS. Each member of our team must understand the importance of the ISMS and the subsequent handling of customer data.


Reports to Manager of DLP Engineering


  • Communicate clearly with the customer to plan, design, and implement a successful security solution. Ability to design and install supported Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions in a wide range of customer environments.

  • Create technical documentation detailing all aspects of the project.

  • Provide the other members of Managed Services with necessary information about the customer environment to seamlessly transition a customer implementation or system validation to the Managed Services Security Operations Center.

  • Acquire and maintain certifications on designated solutions to maintain

  • InteliSecureís status with select Vendor Partners.

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Working knowledge of Data Loss Prevention technology, specifically Symantec and McAfee technology.

  • Be knowledgeable with network technology.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Good written and oral communications skills. Possess good documentation skills.

  • Good Customer Service skills.

  • Must be able to write clearly and intelligently with customers when exchanging information in person or via email, web-based text chat, or other written documents.


  • Bachelorís Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or related discipline)

  • 2-4 yearsí experience. Otherwise, very significant equivalent experience is required.

  • Must be willing to travel 40% of the time.


  • Windows, Unix/Linux Operating System administration experience a plus.

  • Experience working with clients in a support role preferred.


  • Professional certifications (Symantec DLP Administrator, Forcepoint Suite, and/or Intel Security Certified Product Specialist) required;

  • CompTIA Security + or equivalent preferred
